Inventor/Chief Development Officer
Clay Rankin started with a need and a dream: to create a single digital environment that serves a lawyer’s daily practice and works the way lawyers actually work.
50 years of experience, 6 years of coding, 2 young entrepreneurs, 5 developers, a team of 17, 18 months in production made this dream a reality — Cognito.
Invented by a lawyer for lawyers, Cognito is the Legal Workflow Software platform based on the organizing principle of the task, designed to effectively streamline an attorney’s daily workflow.
Cognito’s Task-Centric process enables legal professionals to gather all the data needed about a specific task into a single, comprehensive knowledge workflow, removing the need for constant search and moving in and out of multiple applications.
Cognito captures all text-based information from documents, websites, notes, emails, and more and organizes that information in a single, seamless platform that facilitates real-time collaboration.
Each task and its associated details are preserved in a format that’s structured, accessible, and searchable. Cognito’s outline and document drafting features allow for focused document creation within the app.
We call this Knowledge InFormation. You’ll call it better legal work, faster.
